30 Mar BLAZING SUN, BITTER WIND

Old Harry Rocks, Jurassic Coast, 24.3.2019, 155 x 165 cm, Acrylic on Canvas   This piece was painted on a day of extreme contrasts. In sheltered areas there was a gloriously warm sun for a March day but on the edge of these cliffs the wind was really fierce and icy. The wind kept blowing the tripod over - many times I re-set it quickly enough that it didn't disturb the shot but after quite a few hours of exposure I had a headache and was feeling drained. 15 May FAWN IN DANCING BLUEBELL RIVER LIGHT

This was a lovely tranquil day spent painting this scene, the warmth, the sound of the birds and water and at one point a young deer who emerged from a nearby coppice to watch me for a while. The changing, flickering light is caught well...

14 May BLUEBELLS DOG WALKERS AND A PARROT

This video is a 'slow-burner' watch it until the light breaks through the canopy! I have been painting bluebells in their brief May window for over 10 years but this year I felt I had a real breakthrough in capturing the dappled, changing contrasts of...
