We were enjoying a relaxing holiday sailing in Croatia’s Kornati, but I was being drawn to the light pacing alongside us, bouncing off the crests of the waves and I couldn’t resist the challenge of trying to capture this sublime experience. Not wanting to cover the deck of the yacht in paint I suggested working in the tiny dinghy being towed behind us. I grabbed a canvas, palette, brushes and paint and climbed into the small boat, drifted out and began painting as the yacht began to keel, picking up wind in its sails. Soon I was being thrown about in the wake like a rider of a bucking horse with more paint going on my face and clothes than the canvas. After a rather challenging and painful experience this was the result, a great story but not recommended
