Storm Chasers

22nd April 2026

Fourteen exceptional storm works, drawn from nearly fifty paintings made across seven years of wild weather.

Stormchasers is a curated online exhibition of fourteen storm works selected from a much larger body of paintings made across the last seven years.

These works were not made from a distance. They were made in wind, rain, salt spray, unstable light and difficult conditions, from North Cornwall to Teignmouth, from raw canvas pegged into cliff tops to fragile sheets of paper carried into the weather and back again.

At the centre of the exhibition is a long-held Storm Eunice painting, shown alongside recent works on paper, one micro-edition print, and a group of original storm paintings on canvas, board and birch ply. Together they trace the force, fragility, exhilaration and strange beauty of wild weather.

Usually this time of year I am deep in bluebells. This spring I wanted to do something different: to build one major storm collection from the strongest sea and weather paintings I’ve made over the last few years, and to bring that raw air, movement and freedom indoors.
