I had seen many images of Blackchurch Rock in North Devon but it took me years to discover it’s location and to finally visit it (a well kept secret). After taking the wrong route down to the coast, we finally reached it close to dusk (and had a hike back). The location didn’t disappoint – I was captivated by the wild energy which felt almost Nordic or Icelandic. I dived into this painting and was so engrossed that I was almost caught out by a rogue incoming wave – I jumped onto a nearby rock in an attempt to preserve the painting but slipped and ended up in the sea 😉
