Part of Stormchasers, a curated exhibition of fourteen storm works selected from nearly fifty paintings made across seven years of wild weather.

The anchor work of the exhibition. Made during Storm Eunice in conditions so extreme that the Met Office had issued a risk-to-life warning. The quality of this painting and its origins makes it a career defining piece – it has been held in my private collection since its creation and is being released publicly for the first time.

The raw canvas was pegged into the cliff top and almost torn away by the wind. The resulting surface carries incredible lace-like marks and textures created through the violent motion of canvas, paint and atmosphere in this ‘once in a lifetime’ event.
